Poker and Gambling Tips

Poker and gambling tips: Poker is a very interesting game in the sense that it can be mastered very easily as a beginner. The true challenge however, is that in terms of advanced skill, it is virtually impossible to completely master. Skills can be improved to an unlimited degree. There are indeed many areas of advanced play, even beyond such areas as starting hand selection, knowledge and use of odds, playing given table position, using tells, and the ability to see developed trends in opponents in making prudent decisions. There are a number of advanced areas in which poker strategy and skill can be honed to reach higher degrees of proficiency.

In a very analytical sense, all poker games end in situations where 2 or more people must oppose each other, all with an agenda to achieve their own end. A most important skill in such situations is the ability to bluff effectively. In what is considered to be an 'Optimal Bluffing Strategy' players can execute their bluffs in such a way that they are completely random and can be nearly impossible to detect by opponents. The Independent Chip Model (ICM) is another strategy in which a tournament player's chip stack is assigned a money value using the value of available prize money and the current winnings of opponents. The amount is used to determine true risk and is a critical piece of information used in decision-making, particularly in sit and go tournaments.

In heads-up play, players can use two mathematically based strategies at the end of tournaments in guaranteeing that opponents cannot take advantage of them. One is called the SAGE system and the other, the 'Nash-Equilibrium'. For many who master their use, the result is many more money finishes.Dan Harrington introduced the ideas of the 'M', zone and inflection points as necessary advanced tools for players competing in advanced poker tournaments. The M score can be determined by dividing your chips by the blinds and antes. Once calculated, the score is then used to further determine a zone. Players then determine or select an appropriate strategy based on the zone. Inflection points are really change points as a player moves between zones.

Many players also learn advanced poker and gambling tips simply by observing professionals as they play. In this manner, professional online tournament players are great examples that can be used to exemplify features of effective play. The observation process is actually called rail-birding and it requires that learners see or analyze the hand as a whole rather than just the cards in play. Perhaps it is more important to note cards that are not in the hand, as well as those that are.
