World Poker Tour (WPT) - Poker Revolution
The World Poker Tour (WPT) is controlled by WPT Enterprise (WPTE). The WPT is a weekly television show that broadcasts texas hold'em poker tournaments from all around the world. This is a HUGE part why poker has caught on so quickly and why there are millions more poker players today than there were just a decade ago. The show is now going on its seventh season. The top professional poker players are always in the WPT tournaments. So any amateur can buy in ($2,500-$25,000) to the tournament and compete against the best in the world. This makes for entertaining television. It is the highest rated cable program on TV and will soon be moving to fox sport network. There are points given out based on how a player places in a tournament: Winner: 1000 points 2nd place: 700 points 3rd place: 600 4th place: 500 5th place: 400 6th place: 300 7th place: 200 The player with the most points at the end of the season is the "Player of th Year". Season 6: Jonathan Little You can purchase any of the previous seasons on DVD. The World Poker Tour will be starting a new series called WPT Ladies. This will have five different tournaments that are women only tournaments. ClubWPT is the WPT's online poker room which you pay a fee if you want to be part of the club. This is a poker room that is legal in the US. This is not a poker room where you play with real money, although you can win cash prizes.
