, was born in Nha Trang, Vietnam. He moved to the United States when he was 14 years old. He currently resides in Las Vegas, Nevada. His extended family lives in Vietnam, and he has been known to send part of his winnings back there to help them out. He won the World Series of Poker (WSOP) championship event in 1998.Scotty was introduced to the game of poker when he moved to California, after one year in Chicago. He is a talker at the table, and keeps up a running commentary that is designed to keep other players off balance. He is also a very aggressive poker player who makes large bets in order to gain chips and put opponents out of play. Nguyen is ranked as one of the highest earning professional poker players in the world, and travels extensively throughout the world on the tournament circuit.
