JC Tran was born in Vietnam and currently resides in Sacramento, California. Tran has certainly made his mark on the world poker scene. A professional poker player who holds a degree in Business Administration, he came into prominence in 2004. Notable finishes that year included a 5th place finish at the WPT World Poker Finals at the Foxwoods Resort, a 7th place finish in the
World Poker Tour (WPT)

.In 2005, Tran did well at the Borgata $10,000 WPT event, placing 7th. Winning a $1,500 World Series of Poker circuit tournament along with a 2nd place finish at Bally’s World Series of Poker event added only added to his wealth and poker profile. JC Tran kept his winning ways going in 2006 and 2007 with a number of wins and a 2nd place finish at World Poker Tour events. A 2nd place finish at the LA Classic of the World Poker Tour earned him almost $1.2 million. Tran won his first World Series of Poker bracelet in 2008 and was the World Poker Tour Season 5, Player of the Year. He also won the Season 6 World Poker Tour Player of the Year competition. JC Tran is definitely on a hot streak. A player who favors Texas Hold’em, he has competed in 7 Hold’em events so far in 2008, finishing first in one of his recent events with winnings of over $600,000. To date, Tran has won a total of 81 cash events for an accumulated total of $6,760,275. Tran has had 8 first place finishes and he is ranked 78th overall among pros. As an affirmed professional, he has earned a great deal of respect among his peers and is considered a competitive force.
