Howard Lederer Poker

Born in 1964, in New Hampshire, USA, Howard Lederer has risen to the top of the poker world with a reputation as an analytical and reflective professional. He is the brother of poker professional, Annie Duke (see below). While attending Columbia University in New York, he gained an interest in chess and ultimately discovered poker in the process. He spent a great deal of time at the Mayfair Club and came to know well-known poker players Erik Seidel and Dan Harrington. His move to Las Vegas in 1994 marked the start of his poker career. Lederer’s reputation as a consistent winner, using a focused, tactical style and cool demeanor, has earned him the name: "The Professor." He even has stated that he applies Zen wisdom to his game. From 1994 to 2002, he focused highly on his winning money. He received his initial Hall of Fame title in 1994 by winning $2,500 No-Limit Deuce to Seven Draw event at the Hall of Fame Poker Classic. He successfully defended the title to win his second in 1995. Five years later, he won a gold bracelet in the $5,000 Limit
Omaha Hi/Lo
event at the World Series of Poker. A second bracelet came the following year in the $5,000 Deuce to Seven World Series event. His first World Poker Tour win came in 2002 and in March of 2003, Lederer won his second WPT Championship title in the $5,000 Limit Hold 'em event on The Poker Million cruise. He also won the first of three Bellagio titles in the $2,500 No-Limit Hold 'em event at the Bellagio Five-Star World Poker Classic that same year. He claimed his second and third Bellagio titles in April of 2004. In expanding his horizons, Howard also does some poker commentary for
