Doyles Room Poker Site Review

Doyles Room Online Poker Review

Operating since 2004, Doyles Room has been highly successful in attracting players. Managed by Doyle Brunson and Mike Caro, Doyles Room has enjoyed a great deal of popularity. While many of those players were American and were “lost” with the passing of the UIGEA in 2006, DoylesRoom.com has reversed and now accepts U.S. players. Along with a shift to the Microgaming network, the site can now count on high traffic. Offering a wide game variety and a range of table limits will hopefully help this cause.

As of November 2008, this appeared to be effective give that real money tournament traffic at peak times topped 10,000 players.

The software provides very useful statistics as well as large, normal and mini view table sizes. Proven to be stable and reliable, the graphics are attractive and have a rustic, very basic appearance. The functions are well organized and functional. Some consider the poker room to look a little messy, with what has been described as a cheap, cartoon look that does not characterize a higher stakes room. For many, it seems to be a matter of taste.

Doyles Room offers numerous promotions, such as sign-up bonuses and an attractive VIP points program. It also has a bad beat jackpot that compensates in any case where four-of-a-kind eights-or-better is beaten in a cash game. Doyle, Caro, and Hoyt Corkins also play in a weekly bounty tournament, thus adding to the site’s profile. Such participation, along with associated financial backing makes DoylesRoom a reputable site. Rakes are typical of other sites, averaging 5% of the pot and usually amounting to between $1 and $3.

The menu of available games includes Texas Hold'em, Omaha, Omaha Hi-Lo , Seven-Card Stud, Five-Card Draw and Five-Card Stud. They vary between No-Limit, Pot, and Fixed-Limit. Full-table games, short-handed, and heads-up tables are all available. Overall, DoylesRoom offers some good action and excitement. Support is offered through e-mail, phone, and live chat, and is of very high quality. The games are varied and the software runs well. With frequent updates, safety and stability, and minimal time loss is certain.
